Welcome to GIGI Coffee The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey, a delightful haven located on the 3rd floor of the bustling Persiaran Southkey 1 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. As a food reviewer for Menu Buzz, I find this local gem to be an intriguing spot for both coffee aficionados and casual sippers alike.
GIGI Coffee excels in its open-concept layout, creating a relaxed ambiance perfect for catching up with friends or unwinding after a shopping spree. The seating area is both inviting and comfortable, allowing patrons to indulge in their favorite brews while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the mall.
One of the standout features at GIGI is the selection of its coffee, where customers can even choose the origin of their beans. This unique touch elevates the coffee experience, allowing for a personalized taste journey. From the praised buttercream latte—which some find a tad sweet—to the rich flavor of the hazelnut latte, there's a beverage for every palate. The sea salt chocolate cream also garners high marks for its balanced sweetness, appealing to those who prefer a dessert-like experience without overwhelming sugariness.
Despite some reviews mentioning a dip in staff enthusiasm, many agree that the quality of the coffee itself shines through. Elle J commended the interesting and well-balanced flavors at reasonable prices, while others like Hadif Irfan rave about GIGI Coffee's ability to deliver consistently delightful brews.

“ Service was good and the staff were friendly. The coffee tasted great and was okay for the price paid! Loved how they have many seats at the outlets as well so that you could really take a break from all the shopping that will be done at the mall. ”

“ Affordable aromatic coffee with a super easy ordering process and has good ambience too. Love the brand elements and touchpoints. Nice to catch up on coffee at that level especially after all that shopping. Has a nice seating area as well if you wish to catch up with your friends or simply waiting for someone. ”
“ Gigi Coffee, a local Malaysian coffee chain, was a first-time experience for me. Located in the heart of the mall with an open area concept, it offers a unique ambiance. Their signature buttercream latte was enjoyable, although a bit too sweet for my taste. One intriguing aspect is the option to choose the country of origin for the coffee beans when placing an order. ”
“ Coffee was worth the try, with really interesting flavours. Taste was very Well balanced and strong. Price was very reasonable for the standard of the coffee. However I think staff there are tired, on the day I visited, lacked the enthusiasm and friendliness. But oh well, the coffee was good so all is good. There is a sitting area as well which makes it perfect to chill while sipping on your coffee. ”
“ The Pine-perous Cold Brew Tea (15 ringgit) is refreshing and not too sweet; but would be great if the price can be slightly cheaper. The Malay lady staff who was working alone, was efficient and friendly. Keep up the good service. ”
“ Between ZUS Coffee and GIGI, I still prefer ZUS as they serve flat white but not in GIGI. So I ordered a cafe latte with soy milk. It tastes ok but because it’s latte, it’s not as rich as flat white. For RM14, I think I get a better deal at ZUS. Of course it’s individual taste and preference. Just my own experience sharing only. ”
